November Event

Game Day at Briarwood Manor

• Location: Briarwood Manor - 1001 Lincoln Ave., Lockport
• Date: Monday, November 10th
• Time: 3:00 - 4:00 PM
• Cost: FREE, but you need to bring a game with you (preferably chess or checkers)

This is an opportunity for children, who are of an appropriate age, to play chess and/or checkers with elderly residents at a local assisted living facility. The children should be able to sit still for up to an hour and be knowledgeable about how to play either chess or checkers. Since many of you may also have younger children, you may feel free to drop off your participating children at 3:00 and pick them up again at 4:00. I would like to have at least one mom, who is willing to stay. In addition, I will be there, along with 1 or 2 aides from Briarwood Manor.

Each child will need to bring a game with them. I would like to have the emphasis be on chess and checkers, but other games may be acceptable, too (e.g. Sorry, Mastermind, Mancala, etc.).

I'd like to get as many of you to participate as possible. This is such a great opportunity to minister to others, while having a great time, too!! If all goes well, I'd like to make this a monthly event.
